The Chris Is Back!

by Arin Der Vartanian
The year 2009 will see Chris Alajajian back in the driver seat, after a one-year hiatus. Last time we saw ‘The Chris’ was in 2007 where he raced in the A1 Grand Prix, competing in the World Cup of Motorsport for Team Lebanon, and giving the team its best results since its inception in 2005.

Well Alajajian returned home to Australia and will be racing in the V8 Fujitsu Development Series, with his first race this weekend at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. He aims to make an impression amongst the racing circles in Australia once again, by displaying his raw talent and dynamic driving style, and will do so in Jay Motorsport’s VZ Holden Commodore.

“A one year break from racing has only made me hungrier to make it to the top again” said the 22-year-old Alajajian, from Sydney’s North Shore. “With motor racing you need to be backed financially by a corporate sponsor, and that is one thing I’m hoping to secure this year and ensure I’m racing in the V8 Supercars next year… that’s my dream”. He has a strong focus to get a top finish in the Development Series in 2009.

Chris has had an incredible following throughout his early career and looks to regenerate his relationship with the community and motor-enthusiasts alike. With a corporate sponsor on board, the sky is the limit for this young talent, and it won’t be long till we see him in the Supercars.
